Match report for 10-4’s V Palmerstown 20th March
The 10.4’s had an away match to Palmerstown
Rangers at Mill lane. It was a beautiful day!
The boys were missing James Murphy due to
injury. They were also missing Goal-Keeper,
Daniel, so Jack Paterson went in goal for the first
half. Kevin’s had quite a lot of shots on goal, but
no luck. Our new player, Stephen Kavanagh, had
his second match and played well in defence
helped by Luke Maher on his left and Henry
Costello (me) on his right, both of whom provided a
wall of defence. Less than minutes into the game
I made a tackle, injuring myself and came
off for a while. Niall Brennan set up quite a lot
of chances on goal. Palmerstown had very few
chances on goal and the score stayed 0-0 at half
time. Jack Cullen switched with Jack Patterson in
goal.
The referee gave some questionable decisions.
James Hand had a chance on goal and sadly
missed. The Goal-Keeper took his kick out and
the Palmerstown midfielders had possession.
They got through Conor O’Friel and the three
defenders. Jack jumped the wrong way and
Palmerstown were up 1-0. St.Kevin’s fought hard
with a couple of set ups by Conor and Niall. Again
James Hand had a shot on goal from a hard angle
which Joe Hutchison hit on the volley and GOAL!!
Now St.Kevins and Palmerstown Rangers were
level again. After five minutes Palmerstown came
down as fast as lightning. Henry lashed out at him
and defended the goal with the help of Stephen.
The whistle blew for full time. The score was 1-1.
Henry Costello.
