St Kevins Boys have reached a new high as seven of our teams have reached the last 32 of the Schoolboy Football All Ireland Cups.
Our 11 Premier took on Salthill Devon of Galway in the last 32 of the Menton Seery Cup and ran out 3-0 winners (report on back page). Our 12 Premier travel to Cork to take on Corinthians in the Norton Cup. The 13 Premier (last season’s runners up in the competition have a home tie with Cherry Orchard (last season’s winners) in the Troy Cup. The 14 Premier are at home to Clonmel Town in the Goodson Cup. Our 15 Premier also overcame Salthill Devon in the last 32 of the Evans Cup (see report). Meanwhile two of our U16 teams are in the Barry Cup with the 16 Premier at home to Greenwood/Carrigaline of Cork and our 16 Major at home to Salthill Devon.
This is a first for the Club to have a team from each of our age groups from Under 11 to Under 16 competing in the last 32 of these competitions and great credit is due to each and every one of them.
To have two teams at Under 16 level in the last 32 is also unique and sees our 16 Premier attempt to win the trophy for the 5th time in a row and our 16 Major reach this stage for the 2nd time – last season they managed to get to the quarter finals of the competition.
Meanwhile our Senior Premier team are also in to the last 32 of the FAI Junior Cup and have a home tie against Kilkenny side, Evergreen at the beginning of February. So far the season is showing very positive signs for our Senior team as they remain unbeaten in the league and are still in the Leinster Junior Cup, The Liddy Cup and the Nivea Cup.
