Pre season tournaments update August 10th 2009

Last week our 13 Premier took part in the Umbro Galway Cup at Salthill Devon F C – they got off to a great start winning their first three  games 6 – 0 against West Waterford and 5 – 0 against North Tipperary and yesterday 8 -0, and went through the rest of their group games unbeaten.  In the Final they came up against a classy Mexican team called Sports Clinic and failed to get in a blow in a game that the Mexicans dominated from start to finish, eventually winning 2 – 0.

In the Dublin Cup we had 5 teams participating over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The under 11 Premier acquitted themselves well in the under 12 section. In the under 15 section our Premier team lost in the final of the Cup competition while our 15.2 followed up their Crumlin Cup win with victory in the Shield final. Our 16 Premier were disappointing while our 18 Premier were defeated in their Cup final.
