Bad weather again played havoc with the fixture list over the weekend but some important League and Cup games survived and produced another round of excellent SKB results.
Our 13 Premier and 18 Super both travelled on Saturday to Midleton in Cork and Ferrycarrig Park in Wexford respectively for SFAI Troy Cup and Leinster Youth Cup games against Midleton F C and Wexford Youths.
The game in Midleton was played in a downpour throughout on a very heavy surface and despite dominating the game from the start SKB only led by 1 goal at half time – a close range header from Darragh Murphy. Soon after the re-start a rocket from 25 yards by Darragh O’ Shea doubled the lead and two excellent goals from Aaron Townley made it 4-0 at the finish and secured a last 16 trip to Fairview Rangers in Limerick.
Despite going a goal down to Wexford Youths our 18 Super rallied in tremendous style with goals from James Hanratty and Conor Day giving themthe lead and they held off a determined late rally by the homeside for a 2-1 win in the 4th round of The Leinster Youth Cup, this week they play Bohemians F C in the 4th round of the FAI Youth Cup.
Also in the Leinster Youth Cup our 17 Premier were away to a very strong Shamrock Rovers under 18 Super team in Carolan Park yesterday and came away with an excellent 2-1 win with goals from Aaron Flood and Ryan Malone, they are also in action this coming weekend in the FAI Under 17 Cup at home to Waterford Bohemians.
On the League front there were wins for our 14 Premier 3-2 at home to Cherry Orchard F C, and our 1st team 3-0 away to Corduff F C, our 17.2 also recorded an away win 4-1 at St Malachys F C.
