9 A SATURDAY WIN LEAGUE WITH 3 GAMES TO SPARE

Our U9A Saturday side went to Mountview knowing that a win would most likely hand them the League title.
The boys showed up in a very positive mood and seemed focused and ready to go.
Although we dominated the 1st half of the game and had a number of chances to open the scoring theMountview ’keeperseemed to be in no mood to concede and the 1st half finish 0-0. The constant pressure finally paid off when early in the 2nd half Ryan recieved the ball in the Mountview box with his back to goal and like all good strikers with natural instinct turned and shot low and hard past the keeper for the opening goal 1-0, after that it was all one way traffic with our lads creating more and more chances and Mountview had theirs backs to the wall.

Deiric is a terror for any defender to mark and with Ryan beside him any defence has their work cut out and it was only a matter of time before we doubled our lead when our midfield genius Ross drove home a unstopable drive from the edge of the box to make it 2 nil.
Mountview offered little threat going forward but did manage to find the net from a long distance free kick which bounced in our box and went straight in to make it 2-1, but like all good sides the boys reacted to this set back in a very positive way and drove home their dominance with a well worked and well deserved finish and a 2nd goal for the man of the match Ross – 3-1.

All the lads worked so hard throughtout the game and showed a level of maturity that is rarely seen in 9 yr old kids. From the dominance in his own penalty area by the best keeper in the league by a mile Jack, to the rock solid defending from David who shows amazing composure under pressure to Luke who rarely lets anyone past him and Josh who would tackle his granny. The quality of our midfield matching anything Barcelona have in Brian, Ross, Keith and Jake who between them control every game with confidence and belief and all four contribute their fair share of goal scoring as well and the most feared strikers in the business Deiric and Ryan who have scored almost half our goals between them and Jack K whose pace and finishing is every defenders nightmare. These boys deserved to win their league but to do it in such convincing fashion is no mean feat having gone unbeaten so far and with 3 games to go they have already scored 69 goals and conceded only 9, with 11 clean sheets along the way,
Our aim now is to try finish the season unbeaten and then complete the double by lifting the trophy in the Leicester City cup in England in a couple of weeks time.
As the managers of this side we would like to take this chance to thank the lads for their total dedication to the team on both training nights and match days and their commitment and discipline both on and off the pitch and also we would like to give a big thank you to the boys parents for the unquestionable support and commitment they have shown the team throughtout the season.
