This was the teams’ 2nd game after the Christmas break – we drew 2-2 last week. It was bitterly cold as the game started, both teams opened brightly with our midfield of Keith O’Brien,Sean Graydon and Robert House playing well.
The first real chance fell to Kevins but we failed to take the chance, however midway through the first half when Keith played a header through their defence and Killian Davis quickly got on the ball we opened the score. Shortly after Dylan Folan has a chance to make it 2-0 but a good save from their keeper kept the ball out. From his clearance the ball broke into space behind our defence and they scored -1-1 – a real downer as we had come so close to making it 2-0. Dean Williamson made a good save late on in the half and Robert O’Neill followed up by clearing off the line.
The 2nd half was very tight with the defence of Michael Keogh, Anthony House and midfield now including Cian Bourke playing well. Adam White has come on up front in the 2nd half and was playing well also, we had most of the pressure but could find the breakthrough. Minutes from the end a pass from Anthony onto Adam Power which he then laid onto Dylan to score the winner.
Overall a fair result as the work from midfield of Keith and Sean and the defence of Michael and Robert deserved a win.Killian was man of the match.
Les House.
