9.4 DEFEAT LEAGUE LEADERS

LAKELANDS FC v ST KEVINS BOYS (9.4)

This match pitched us against the league leaders who were unbeaten todate. It was a cold but sunny day as we kicked off and found ourselves 1-0 down after a few minutes. About half way thru the first half we equalised when a kick out from their goalkeeper landed to Keith O’Brien who cooly beat the keeper with a great shot. A few minutes later we went ahead thru Adam White – scoring on his birthday.The second half saw the game going from end to end, our defence of Robert, Anthony, Michael and Adam held firm though. Late on Dylan had a chance to seal the game but his shot was saved by their keeper. In the last minute  Lakelands got a late penalty – harshly given by the referee – however it was well saved by Dean. A great performance from the team and a well deserved victory.
