A minutes silence in respect of team manager Tony Gleeson’s father Patrick was impeccably observed prior to our 11.3 teams penultimate league game last night at Station Road Lusk.
John Cassidy was in sole charge for this important game where a win would guarantee the league title with a game to spare and he certainly had his players primed for action as they raced 2-0 ahead by half-time despite playing uphill against a very strong breeze. Two further goals early in the second half settled the issue and they knocked in another four as the half progressed to run out 8-0 winners and add the Premier League title to the Brenfer Haughey Cup they won earlier this month
Thus ends a fantastic first season in 11 a – side football for this group who as well as achieving a League and Cup double reached the last 32 of the SFAI Menton Seery Cup.
