Since our foundation in 1959 St. Kevin’s has grown to become one of Dublin’s and Ireland’s leading schoolboy and junior soccer clubs. We cater for over forty teams with a playing membership in excess of six hundred and fifty. The club is very proud of the success achieved by many of our former players. Notable amongst these are Damien Duff, Stephen Carr, Ian Harte, Alan Maybury and Liam Brady.
The club is very fortunate to have in the region of one hundred adults who give
so freely of their time to run the club. These adults are active in roles such
as managing and coaching teams, administration, fundraising, and supervising
and maintaining the clubhouse and pitches.
Much of the success of the club has been based on the high quality of leadership
provided to the club over the years. The club is guided by our annual general
meeting, a dedicated and committed Board of Directors, an active and progressive
executive along with a number of other committees such as the football committee,
a finance committee and a mini-leagues committee.
The club is one of the few major clubs in football to cater for players with
such a wide range of abilities. We offer very high standards of coaching and
excellence to our top teams. With this in mind the work carried out in our academy
is of great benefit to those players who hope to make a career in football.
Parallel with this is the fact that we run up to six teams in some age groups.
This allows us to cater for players of all abilities.
While the club is based in the Whitehall area we attract players and leaders
from a wider geographical area. However the club is recognised to be an exemplar
for a community-based club.
Over the years our facilities have improved so that we are now the envy of many
of our competitors. We are very grateful to all our parents, players, supporters
and sponsors who have (and continue to) contributed so generously over the years.
The work undertaken by St. Kevin’s Boys Club has been invaluable in assisting
its young members to participate in sport and to develop themselves to take
their place in society. Since our inception we have been associated with all
that is best in sport. We are widely recognised as a club that maintains the
highest standards of behaviour, organisation and probity. We look forward to
continuing and improving our work in the future.
Yours in sport
